2.50 (C) grade point average

Minimum grade of 'C' in all program courses

TEAS test results required

ASC 100 College Strategies 1 cr. required for first time full time freshman, ASC 101 College Transitions 0.5 cr. required for all other students

General Education Requirements

WSC belongs to the Dakota Nursing Program which is approved by the State Board of Nursing. (See approval documentation.)

Upon completion of the 11 month program, students will be eligible for a Certificate in Practical Nursing and to take the NCLEX-PN ®.

Students must have an e-mail account. Some course components may be offered in an on-line format.  Classes will be presented using a variety of technology.

Clinical experiences are supervised by Williston State College nursing faculty. Clinical experiences will be provided at Mercy Hospital and Bethel Lutheran Home in Williston, the North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown, ND, and at other specified locations.

NOTE: Alternate Methods to Validate Course Objectives

Opportunity for validation of student achievement of specific course objectives by alternate methods is provided by the nursing department. Nursing faculty will review each situation on an individual basis.  For further information, contact the nursing program coordinator.

Now required for application to the 2014-15 Practical Nursing Program:

The TEAS Test (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is a proctored online multiple choice exam that measures entry level skills and abilities of applicants to nursing programs. The TEAS Test measures science, math, language and reading knowledge and skills. Prospective students must score at the Basic, Proficient, Advanced or Exemplary Level to be eligible for admission.
