Road Map

At Williston State College, "Where the People Make the Difference" isn't just a saying. Whether it is assistance with your application for admission, support in the classroom, or help on the court, our dedicated faculty and staff will help guide your road to success.  

To begin your journey on the pathway to educational success, follow the steps below:

1.  RECRUITMENT

2.  ADMISSION
For more on requirements for admission at WSC, click here.  Students can also apply for admission by visiting willistonstate.edu/apply
-CLAIM YOUR ACCOUNT
CampusConnection is the WSC online registration system that allows students access to information 24/7. Your account should be claimed within 24 hours of applying for admission.  Students can view their To Do list, apply for housing, check for open classes, register for courses, print class schedules, accept/decline financial aid, and pay tuition. To claim your account, visit claim.ndus.edu  

3.  APPLY FOR HOUSING
Housing applications are completed through Campus Connection. For more information, visit willistonstate.edu/housing

4.  FINANCIAL PLANNING

- APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID (FAFSA)
To apply for Federal Financial Aid, visit fafsa.gov and click Start a New FAFSA. Students must create a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID. Once the FSA ID has been created, students will be able to log in and begin on the FAFSA application. WSC school code: 003007.  

- APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS
Williston State College students are very fortunate to have access to a strong base of scholarship resources offered through the WSC Foundation. Click here for more information regarding Institutional and External scholarships. Prior to applying for need based scholarships, students are required to fill out a FAFSA.  

- PERSONAL FINANCIAL PLANNING
It's never too early to start planning how to pay for college. Learning about and understanding financial planning options will help you make a financial plan.  Use our financial planning worksheet to learn about educational costs and payment possibilities.

5 & 6.  ADVISING & REGISTRATION
ARE YOUR ADMISSION AND FINANCIAL FILES COMPLETE? CHECK YOUR TO-DO LIST.
Using CampusConnection, students can track the status of admission and financial aid requirements. Students are unable to register for courses until their admission to-do list is complete. View your To Do list, by click TO-DO LISTDETAILS, then click a TO-DO ITEM  to view specific details after logging into CampusConnection

- ATTEND REGISTRATION SESSION
While not mandatory, registration sessions allow new students to meet with advisors and learn the registration process.  During registration, you'll set up your WSC email, meet with an advisor, develop a course schedule, and register for classes. 7.  TIME TO PAY
Payments due dates are found on our website. Make payment arrangements to ensure your balance is paid in full via financial aid, scholarships, or out-of-pocket dollars. 

-PAYMENT PLAN ARRANGEMENTS
WSC offers payment plans during the fall and spring semesters. Payment plans divide the balance on a student's account into four payments per semester. For more information on payment plans, please click here.  

8.  RE-REGISTER FOR COURSES
Throughout your studies with WSC, consult with your academic advisor in order to register for your future term courses and ensure progress towards graduation.  Use the Student Registration Guide and our Course Schedule to help choose courses that best fit your schedule. Also, plan to complete any FAFSA or scholarship applications by set deadlines for each year.

9.  GRADUATION
The end of your studies at WSC is near! Plan to apply for graduation at least one semester prior to your expected graduation date. Correspondence regarding graduation will be sent to your WSC email.

10. TRANSFER AND CAREER PLACEMENT
Whether your goal is to continue onto a four-year institution or enter the workforce, we have resources for you!
