Federal Work Study

Federal Work Study (FWS) is a financial aid program in which a student with financial need may be provided with a job on or off campus. Students may work in various areas including office, clerical, library, bookstore, cafeteria, or buildings and grounds.

Eligible students may work 5-15 hours per week and earn up to $15/hour.

WSC participates in the America Reads Program, providing reading tutors to children in grades 1-3 in local elementary schools. This job is perfect for those students looking to work in the field of education! For more information about this exciting program, email the financial aid office today!

FAQs

How do I apply for a Federal Work Study Job?

To be considered for one of these positions you will need to fill out a FAFSA.

If you have received FWS in your financial aid award package, an award letter will be emailed to your WSC email address. To accept your FWS award follow these simple directions for accepting awards.

Next you will also need to complete the Federal Work Study Application. You may email your application to the Financial Aid office by clicking here and attaching your completed application.

Once your completed application has been received, a financial aid representative will contact you regarding available jobs.

If I am hired for a Federal Work Study job, what paperwork will you need from me?

Once a financial aid representative has confirmation from your hiring supervisor, we will contact you. You will be responsible for contacting your supervisor to set up your work schedule and to review the FWS Program Manual.

You will need to bring your driver's license and social security card to the financial aid office.  You will also need to submit the following forms before you can begin work:
