WILLISTON, N.D. - In an effort to streamline registration and give students the opportunity to get a feel for the campus, Williston State College held organized registration sessions over the summer. According to Lacey Madison, Director for Admission and Records, it was the first time this had been done in at least a decade.

"Students had the opportunity to take a tour of the campus, meet with their advisor, get registered for classes, get their WSC email address, take their COMPASS test if they hadn't taken the ACT test," she said. "Basically, it gave them experience on campus and gave them an opportunity to get enrolled."

One of the benefits of taking advantage of the early registration sessions was that the WSC Foundation donated funds for door prizes.

"At each of the seven sessions, students put their names in for a $100 gift certificate for the WSC Bookstore," Madison said. "Then a grand prize was awarded and that was an iPad."

After the official reporting date, the grand prize was awarded and the winner was Zachary Lee of Plentywood, a freshman in the Diesel Technology program.

"We are very thankful to the Foundation for graciously donating the money for the door prizes," Madison stated. "It was nice for the students to come on campus and get a feel for WSC."
