Coming off a second-place finish at the National Junior College Athletic Association hockey tournament in February, the Williston State College Tetons continue to make preparations for another run at a national title during the 2012-13 season.
This week, the Tetons announced the hiring of two assistants that will help WSC hockey coach Seamus Gregory as the program enters its second year of existence.
Ross Orrock has been hired as Gregory's first assistant and recruiting coordinator. Orrock will also be the USA Hockey Ace Coordinator at the Williston Basin Skating Club.
"We would not be in the position to hire a person of Ross' caliber without the WBSC," Gregory said. "From the beginning, they have been there to support us and this is an addition that will help us and them."
Orrock, a native of Elk River, Minn., will work primarily with the goalkeepers and defensemen with the Tetons and coach youth hockey at the WBSC as part of his duties.
"Ross is a great coach, knows the game and is very personable," the WSC coach said. "This is a big step forward for everyone."
Sam Aide, a former Bismarck Bobcat and University of Concordia Wisconsin standout, has been hired as the other WSC assistant.
"Sam is a quality person and fantastic coach," Gregory said. "He has coached at at a high level and understands our philosophies and what it takes to be successful. He works in town and for a guy like that to donate his time to Teton Hockey, we are very lucky."
