Getting Started

Blackboard is the Learning Management Tool used by WSC.  Blackboard is the program you will use to complete your online course work for WSC. To familiarize yourself with Blackboard prior to the start of the semester please check out this training resource utilizing the Blackbord 101 link below.

Tech Requirements

It is important your computer has the following requirements in order to access your online classes.

Operating Systems:
Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10
Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, 10.11, 10.12, 10.13

Chrome Books are Not Recommended!

  Hardware Requirements:
   Sound card, Speakers

   *some classes may require a webcam/micrphone     

Recommended Internet Browsers

Firefox (Final Release Channel, latest version)
Google Chrome (Stable Channel, latest Version)

The following browsers are NOT recommended:

Edge Browser
Internet Explorer
Safari

 Software Requirements:
 Microsoft Office 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 or Office 365

 (Students can download Office 365 from their student email)

State Authorizations

Students Outside of North Dakota Interested in Online Programs from Williston State College

State and federal laws require colleges and universities to be authorized to offer online degree programs in states other than their own. Williston State College is a member of National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA).  Below in Blue are all the states that fall under this agreement.
